Inga was born in Mannheim, Germany on March 5, 1925 to Emma (Muehl) and Henry Rihm. They moved to the United States when she was 3 years old. Growing up in the Philadelphia area, she helped on the family farm, loved sewing, playing the piano, reading, and riding her pony.

After high school graduation, Inga went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at Drexel University, where she met her future husband. She married Warren J. Harwick, and they shared the next 70 years together until his passing. They raised their family in Pennsylvania, Vermont, New York and Wisconsin, owned and operated ALPS Manufacturing, traveled to 60 different countries, and enjoyed playing in the Milwaukee Lake Park Lawn Bowling League.

Inga was also active with Lake Park Lutheran Church, quilting for donations to hospice and women’s shelters, knitting baby hats for the neonatal unit, and sewing projects for Luther Manor as well as her own clothing. She cherished time with family and friends and was a delightful hostess with her entertaining and baking skills. Christmas was a favorite holiday as she loved having family together.
