Janice LaVonne Bradley

Janice was born in Harlan IA, on October 20, 1927, to Lyle and Norma (Buckman) Hamilton. Janice’s childhood was during the great depression and her teen years were during World War II. After graduating high school, Janice met Leland H. “Brad” Bradley, who had just returned from World War II. Janice and Brad married and had 3 children: Randy, born in 1948, Diann, born in 1950 and Richard, born and passed away in infancy in 1955.

Janice worked for many years at Brenton Bank in Des Moines IA. After retirement, Janice and Brad liked to travel and took many trips together, their favorite was visiting their 3 grandchildren in Oregon. After Brad’s death in April 1995, Janice continued to travel, even traveling by cruise ship to St. Petersburg Russia. Janice loved to visit her son and grandchildren twice a year. Janice enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She also enjoyed antiquing and going to garage sales.

Janice passed away on December 26, 2021 at the age of 94 and is survived by: son Randy (Jane) Bradley of Salem Oregon, daughter Diann Bradley of Tallahassee Florida, Grandchildren: Erin (Mike) Clark of Seattle Washington, Jeff Bradley and Scott Bradley of Portland OR, Great Grandchildren: Charlie and Teddy Clark, Siblings: Norm (MaryEllen) Wilcox of Georgia, Richard (Millie) Wilcox of New Jersey, Gary (Ann) Wilcox of California, Joann Houston of Iowa, David Hamilton of Iowa and Steven Hamilton of Iowa.

Janice was predeceased by her husband Brad, son Richard, brother Douglas Hamilton and sister Jean Hamilton. Per Janice’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Janice will be laid to rest beside her husband at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville IA.
