Nancy Heinemann

Nancy Lee Heinemann, 74, passed away on December 26, 2021 at Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Des Moines. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa on January 25, 1947, she was the daughter of Harry and Leona (Wedemier) Staack.
Nancy attended Tripoli High School where she graduated in 1965. She married Lowell Heinemann at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli in November 27, 1966, to this union 4 children were born, Richard Heinemann, Melissa Smith, Darin Heinemann and Jennifer Porter. Nancy was a homemaker for her family and worked at Allen Hospital, Waverly Elementary School and Wartburg College as a custodian. She was an avid cross stitcher, she enjoyed bowling, loved music, dancing and spending time at the VFW in Tripoli with her friends. In her younger years, she was a member of the Jaycees, attended church at Grace Lutheran in Tripoli and St. John Lutheran Church in Waverly. Nancy was very active during family gatherings, picnics and other family get togethers. Most of all she loved being with her family.
In addition to her children, Nancy is survived by her grandchildren; Cody Smith, Austin Smith, Dawson Smith, Tien Porter, Tenchi Porter, Trey Porter, Teaira Porter and sister Janet Givens. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Diane Juel and granddaughter Samara Heinemann.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.

My condolences to Nancy's children and grandchildren. I saw her at my brother's funeral, but not sure she remembered me. RIP Nancy!

I worked with Nancy a long time ago at Country Kitchen in Waverly. We would also hang out together outside of work. She was a lot of fun! She was also a 2nd mom to my brother and his friends. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.
