Kathy, it was so kind of you to notify me of your dad's passing. When Paul read my mother's obituary almost 2 years ago he reached out to me to tell me about how he knew her. When he was in grade school out in the country near my family farm north of Woodward, my mom was his teacher. My sister recently came across a photo of our mom outside a school with a group of kids, one of which we believe was your dad. The photo was mailed a few months ago to your dad, but we never heard back from Paul to know if he received it. I am sad that I didn't get a chance to meet Paul. We had been trying for over a year, but it never worked out. Hoping you find peace through your memories...

The first time I met Paul was at a recent Memorial Day Service in Madrid. We were standing next to him. He was sitting in his walker. Little did I know that my husband, Rollie, knew him well. When the colors were presented he struggled to stand and salute but he did! As a former military wife it truly touched my heart. I will never forget Paul!

Us Dohman kids always enjoyed Paul and Bettys visits to see our parents. They were both so kind to us kids and always a lot of fun. Such great memories. When our dad died, Paul made the trip down to West Point and I really appreciated his presence and support during that time. Our condolences to Pauls family.

In our younger years Paul and I rode every trail in the Des Moines River valley and a lot around the Turkey River in NE Iowa and Elkader. We rode the pavement from Boone to Camp Sunnyside for many years. Paul loved Iowa Easter Seals and Camp Sunnyside. He raised thousands of dollars over the years through the Pony Express Riders of Iowa. He loved those kids at Camp. Sunnyside.
We could tell some real tails but we left them all in the horse camp. .Have an easy ride, Paul, you're on a big one now.
