Margaret "Peg" Louise Liston

Margaret “Peg” Louise (Bierma) Liston passed away on December 6, 2021, at the age of 79.

Peg was born on November 4, 1942, to Lester and Ethel Bierma. She graduated from Lincoln High School and Drake University. She taught at Waukee School District. Peg married Jess Liston on July 8, 1967.

Peg was an inspirational person, artistic, independent, dependable, and loved by her family. She enjoyed traveling and lived in several cities throughout her life. She was known for her many beautiful wooden carved sculptures. She was always the one to organize the family functions. She was also an accomplished seamstress and knitter.

Peg is survived by her siblings, Jeanne Harvey, Larry Bierma, and Lonny Bierma; half-siblings, Gary, Juanita, and Bonnie; step-daughters, Leni Van Wyk and Lori Liston; 4 nieces; one nephew; and 4 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jess Liston; and niece, Brenda.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
