I knew Joan for many years because my mother Wanda was one of her colleagues and dear friends at the DM Police Department. That friendship continued after my mother moved to Arizona back in the early 90s. Joanie made several trips out here to Tucson alone and along with Ron prior to his death. I can say Joanie was my mom's best friend and I cherished her as well. Such a terrific person.
I looked up her obit after I found a letter that she had written to me after my mother's death in 2004.
