David Longcor

David Longcor, 75, passed away October 24, 2021 at Unity Point Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

David was born January 19, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to Howard and Anna (Stajcar) Longcor.

David was the kindest, most generous man with a good sense of humor. He spent his Saturdays visiting nursing homes and praying the rosary with the residents. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was a very religious child of God who prayed every day.

David is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Kirk) Keul of Belmond, Traci Groves of Newton, and Sharon Wegner of Des Moines; sisters, Pat Nall and Mary Lumley of Des Moines; brothers, Barry Longcor of Wichita, KS and Steven Longcor of San Luis Obispo, CA; 10 grandchildren, Curtis, Chase, Megan, Sydney, Jordan, Anthony, Taylor, Derek, Jeremiah, and Geoffrey; 10 great grandchildren, Xavier, Emberly, Valerie, Colton, Lilly, Bennett, Chandler, William, Haylo, and Jax; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith; parents, Howard and Ann; daughter, Stephanie; son, Geoffrey; sisters, Sheila Nall and Karen Smith; twin sister, Sharon Longcor; brother, Howard Longcor, Jr.; and grandson, Cole Longcor-Groves.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Augustin’s Catholic Church, 545 42nd Street. David will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.
