Virginia Ann "Ginny" Taylor
September 22, 2021
The family of Virginia Ann Taylor regrets to announce that she passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the age of 67.
Virginia, known as Ginny, was born March 27, 1954 in St. Louis, IL to William and Barbara Tinman. She married James Taylor on November 20th, 1984 and together had four children. Ginny worked her way through school until graduating Summa Cum Laude from Central Christian College of the Bible with a degree in education. She held various careers including tailoring, church ministry, and insurance while raising her children. Ginny loved serving her family, church, and friends, cheering on the Hawkeyes, tending to her flowers and garden, cooking, and having others over for fellowship and quality time.
All who met Ginny experienced her warm smile, generous hospitality and spirit, humble heart, selfless love and unexpected sass. Ginny was a centering presence for family and friends who will feel her loss deeply for years to come. Her husband often commented on how blessed he was to have married a Proverbs 31 woman, and her kids believe that those words describe Ginny perfectly:
“She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life… She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks… She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
She is survived in death by husband, James; mother, Barbara Tinman; children, Tracy Aldrich, Micah Aldrich (son-in-law), Kelsey Pederson, Stephen Pederson (son-in-law), Jonathan Taylor, Megan Taylor (daughter-in-law), and Benjamin Taylor; grandchildren, Heath Aldrich, Iris Aldrich, Lila Pederson, Jonah Aldrich, Amelia Pederson, and Eloise Pederson; siblings, Elizabeth (Betty) Pauley, Carol McCaslin, Johnna Foster, William (Bill) Tinman, and Bradley (Brad) Tinman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and many others who loved her as a second mom.
Ginny was preceded in death by her father, William Tinman, and son, Tony Taylor.
Services to celebrate Ginny’s legacy will be on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 at Rising Sun Church of Christ in Des Moines, IA. Viewing will be from 3-5pm with memorial to follow. If guests are not able to attend the service in person, the family invites friends to join them virtually for Ginny’s service at: www.risingsunchurch.org

I am sorry for your loss. I lived up the street from the Tinsmans many years ago on Welshire Dr. I enjoyed Ginny and attending church with her. I lost track of her after high school.

I can almost hear the angels welcoming Ginny home. My heart is broken from the new that Ginny has passed away but I have found comfort in the knowledge that I will see her again someday. Ginny had a profound impact on the woman I am today and I know that this world will never be the same without her in it. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Ginny was one of the finest students I ever had, and I have many good memories of her in the classroom and traveling with me on college outreach teams. She was everybody's favorite, full of fun and the Spirit of God. Her reward in Heaven will be large.

Deeply saddened by the news of Ginnys passing. We, like most , have memories of her kindness, compassion and devotion to her family and friends.
No one ever doubted her devotion to her God and church. .
I also had considered Ginny to be a Proverbs 31 woman.
Thoughts and prayers to Jim and his family.

Saddened by the news of Ginny's promotion for the sake of family and friends, but sadness is tempered by the knowledge of her relationship with Jesus and the eternal hope linked to her faith.
