Kouithongdy Vong

Kouithongdy Vong, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Kouithongdy was born July 18, 1939 in Vietnam where he worked as a tailor. He emigrated from Vietnam to the United States where he worked as a factory worker. Kouithongdy enjoyed fishing and going to the park. He loved sewing and mending clothes for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Home Vong; daughters, Kean Wong (Sun Wong), Manivone Vong, Sum Luck (Khamsone Luck), Bouavanh Khongmaly (Don Khongmaly), and Massa Atchison (Ryan Atchison); sons, Songkham Vong and Vanhpheng Vong; grandchildren, T. J. Wong, Chowng Wong, Hawn Wong, Hunter Khongmaly, Fisher Khongmaly, Alina Luck, Hannah Luck, and Zander Atchison.

Kouithongdy was preceded in death by his father, Ing Vong; mother, Hack Ho; sister, Khamfong Baccam; and brother, Yeung Vong.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with cremation to follow.
