Beverly "Bev" White

Beverly “Bev” White, 82 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Bev was born October 9, 1938 in Liscomb, Iowa to Leroy and Grace Altemeier; raised on the family farm alongside her older siblings Keith, Marilyn, and Lorraine. Bev was a graduate of Liscomb High School. She moved to Des Moines, but called Altoona her home for most of her life.

Family members who preceded Bev in passing were her parents, Leroy and Grace; siblings, Keith Altemeier and Marilyn Hupfeld; and her son, David Gabbert.

Bev is survived by her sister, Lorraine Stueck; daughter, Melinda White; son, Scott White; daughter-in-law, Lynne Sebille-White; and granddaughter, Lauren White.

Bev enjoyed reading, spending time with family, and gatherings for the holidays. She also was one of Elvis Presley’s biggest fans.

A service to celebrate Bev’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St SW, Altoona. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Altoona Cemetery. The family respectfully requests all guests wear masks and practice social distancing.
