Maribel Rosario Gonzalez

Maribel Rosario Gonzalez, age 52, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. She was born the daughter of Rafael and Brigida (Gonzalez) Rosario on April 11, 1969 in Bonao, Dominican Republic.

Maribel moved to the US in 1994 at the young age of 25. She lived in New York for several years before coming to Des Moines to be close to her sister. Maribel worked at G&K Services and many years in the food service department at Capitol View Elementary.

Maribel was fun, kind hearted and devoted her life to loving others. She loved to dance, laugh and listen to music. Maribel enjoyed her time spent with her family and friends and greeted everyone she met with open arms and love. She will always be remembered for silly personality and contagious laughter.

Maribel is lovingly survived by her husband, Lucas Jimenez; children, Brenda Rosario, Bryan Rosario, and Miley Jimenez; granddaughter, Milani Castillo; mother, Brigida Rosario; siblings, Lumari, Yalena, Yolanda, Patricio, and Rosanny; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rafael Rosario.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday September 1, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road, Des Moines. Family will greet friends from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. She will later be interred in her home county of Dominican Republic.

Maribel Rosario Gonzalez, de 52 años, falleció el sábado 28 de agosto de 2021 en el Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. Nació como hija de Rafael y Brigida (Gonzalez) Rosario el 11 de abril de 1969 en Bonao, República Dominicana.

Maribel se mudó a los Estados Unidos en 1994 a la temprana edad de 25 años. Vivió en Nueva York durante varios años antes de venir a Des Moines para estar cerca de su hermana. Maribel trabajó en G&K Services y muchos años en el departamento de servicio de alimentos en Capitol View Elementary.

Maribel era divertida, de buen corazón y dedicó su vida a amar a los demás. Le encantaba bailar, reír y escuchar música. Maribel disfrutó del tiempo que pasó con su familia y amigos y saludó a todos los que conoció con los brazos abiertos y amor. Siempre será recordada por su personalidad graciosa y su risa contagiosa.

A Maribel le sobreviven cariñosamente su esposo, Lucas Jiménez; los niños, Brenda Rosario, Bryan Rosario y Miley Jiménez; nieta, Milani Castillo; madre, Brigida Rosario; hermanos, Lumari, Yalena, Yolanda, Patricio y Rosanny; y una gran cantidad de otros familiares y amigos queridos.

Le precedió en la muerte su padre, Rafael Rosario.

Se llevará a cabo una misa fúnebre a las 11 a.m. el miércoles 1 de septiembre de 2021 en la iglesia católica St. Anthony, 15 Indianola Road, Des Moines. La familia recibirá a los amigos a partir de las 3 p.m. a las 8 p.m. Miércoles en Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Más tarde será enterrada en su condado natal de República Dominicana.
