David R. Sparks

David R. Sparks, 69, passed away on August 12, 2021, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was born June 14, 1952, the son of David and Eleanor Sparks.

David was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves and retired from John Deere after many years of service. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.

David is survived by his loving wife, Connie; sons, Matt (Megan) Sparks and Ryan (Reonna) Sparks; six grandchildren, Carson, Mackenna, Terrell, Lane, Broc, and Brody; his brothers, Terry (Sharon) Sparks, Bruce (Cindy) Sparks, and Brent (Teri) Sparks, as well as a large extended family and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Eleanor Sparks, and two brothers, Joseph and Gordon Sparks.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m.
