Nardi Charles "Chuck" Saxon, II
June 13, 2021
Born on January 30, 1973 in Waseca, MN, Nardi Charles Saxon II was the son of Nardi C. and Kay (Weidenhaft) Saxon. Chuck or “Chaz”, as he was known to friends and family, of Minneapolis, MN, died unexpectedly on June 13, 2021 at the age of 48.
Chuck graduated from Burke High School, Omaha, NE, with the class of 1991. During high school and after, Chuck held jobs at Wal-Mart, Subway, an Omaha hotel as a doorman, and later as a phlebotomist. He was robbed of what he considered his “dream job” as a flight attendant by the 9/11 attack in New York City. Re-inventing himself, he graduated from St. Mary’s University, Minneapolis, MN, in 2003 with a Certificate in Surgical Technology which led him to positions at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE, in a traveling assignment; LifeSource as an organ surgery recovery coordinator, and with TRIA Orthopedic Center, Bloomington, MN as a certified surgical technician.
Chuck was a member of the Association of Surgical Technologists. He held positions such as Board member of the Minnesota State Assembly for Surgical Technologists, Secretary for the Minnesota State Assembly for Surgical Technologists Chair of the 2012 Minnesota Assembly for Surgical Technologists Spring Conference, and Chair Election Judge with the Minneapolis City Elections Office.
Chuck was an avid bicycle rider, enjoyed hiking around lakes in Minneapolis, and spending time with friends at his local coffee shop. Chuck expressed his creativity through his stain glass creations, knitting, cooking and baking.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother and stepfather, Kay and Robert Putz, Waddell, AZ; aunts, Patsy Sheehan, Omaha, NE and Barbara Weidenhaft, Monroe, IA; cousins, Michael Sheehan, Reynoldsburg, OH; Jodie (Kavin) Kingery, Monroe, IA, Becky (Kurt) Konek, Monroe, IA, and Tracey (Dave) Swan, Lincoln, NE, and many more friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father; uncles, Richard Weidenhaft and Robert Sheehan; grandparents, Dale and Norma Weidenhaft and Bernard and Irene Saxon.
A Celebration of Life in his honor will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 28, 2021, at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. Family will greet friends and family following the service. A Celebration of Life was held for Chuck on June 27, 2021, by his Minnesota “family” and friends.
Per his wishes, Chuck was cremated and his cremains will be scattered in the mountains of Colorado at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Chuck.

I am heartbroken. He and I have served as a team (he was the head judge and I the assistant head). We always had the most amazing times together. We worked at an interesting precinct and would get together to plan every election. We were perfectly matched and made an amazing team. How can I work without you? Godamn we had so much fun together and always laughed! I miss you so much!!!

Dear family of Chaz,
We at LifeSource are so very saddened to hear of his passing at such a young age. Chaz brought life to so many through his work with organ donation, he played a critical role in helping others. He will be missed.
