Rebecca "Becky" (Shawhan) Hastings

Rebecca “Becky” (Shawhan) Hastings, 61, passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family.

Mrs. Hastings was born in Des Moines and raised in Johnston. She married her husband James in 1979. Becky was passionate about antique dolls, arabian horses, gardening, cacti, and the Iowa State Fair. She loved all animals, especially her dogs.

Becky is survived by her loving husband of almost 42 years, Jim Hastings; mother, Dee Shawhan; twin daughters, Sara and Melissa Hastings; and her sisters, Lea Anne and Sonja. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Shawhan, and her siblings, Kim and Bill.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Highland Memory Gardens, 1 NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
