Kylee Simpson

Ashton Kylee Simpson, 19, passed away on April 8, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born July 25, 2001, in Des Moines, to Nick Christensen and Amanda Barnhill.

Kylee graduated from Saydel High School in 2019. She loved kids and enjoyed working in a day care, spending time with her cousins, and getting her nails done. A loyal and dedicated friend, Kylee had a close knit group that stuck together. She had a big heart, and was a beautiful woman. Kylee was funny, stubborn, outgoing, afraid of nothing (but sharks!), resourceful, intelligent, and could always figure out how to get things done! She will be SO missed.

Kylee is survived by her dad, Nick Christensen; mom, Amanda and Johnny Barnhill; step-mom, Tiffany Howser (Curtis Glenn); sister, Mackenzie Christensen; brothers, Preston and Jameson Barnhill; grandparents, Stephen Christensen, Donna Dell, Kelly Howser (Jeff Wadden) and Cheryl Love; great-grandparents, Rowland and Connie Updike and Carl and Sylvia Field; great great-grandma, Juanita Peed; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Richard Carl Field, Sr.; great-grandpa, Kenneth L. Clearwater; great-grandma, Elizabeth Montgomery; and uncle, Richard Carl Field, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 5-7 p.m., also at the funeral home.
