Dorothy Mae Keeling, 83, passed away on March 9, 2021 at Taylor House.

Dorothy was born January 5, 1938 to Zell and Madge (Williams) Smith in Iowa City, Iowa. They lived in Davenport until they moved to Des Moines when Dorothy was in junior high school. Dorothy graduated from Des Moines Technical High School.

Dorothy married Clinton L. Keeling February 21, 1959. They were married 50 years, until Clinton’s death in 2009. Dorothy and Clinton ran Keeling and Son Upholstery from 1972 until they retired in 2008.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and playing bingo.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Kenneth Keeling, David (Michael) Keeling, Kathleen (Darren) Ritchhart, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton, her parents, and her brother Dewayne Williams.

Family will greet friends and family from 5pm until 7pm Friday, March 12 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 13 at Lowman’s Cemetery, Runnells, Iowa.
