To those of us we knew and loved Kristie know that we have lost someone very special. Someone who has touched us in ways that we'll never forget. Our conversations on authors, recipes, kids, dogs, fun old Cahaba days. You name it we talked it. Rest in peace now.

I had just recently gotten to know Kristie as her professor, and she was a wonderful student, an advocate for justice, and a pleasure to know. She did a lot to made the world a better place, and I know she would have made an excellent teacher!
