Philomene Hunt

Philomene Ann Hunt passed away peacefully at the Village in Indianola Saturday, January 27, 2007 from complications of Primary Progressive Aphasia. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Wednesday, January 31 at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Philomene was born September 14, 1928 in Bancroft, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Agnes (Christensen) Delperdang. She was a longtime bookkeeper at Fox Printing Company and retired from Briggs Corporation in 1999.
Philomene is survived by her six children, Cheryl (Larry) Mathis of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michele Rogers of Des Moines, Steven (Jeri) Hunt of Norwalk, Patricia (Tom) Foster of Urbandale, Scott (Andrea) Hunt of Norwalk, and Christopher (Shona) Hunt of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian Rice of Oregon, Leonora Steuerman of Carroll, Mary Sterken of Michigan, Charles Delperdang of Colorado and Arthur Delperdang of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daryl “Bud” Hunt, two brothers and two sisters.
The family will greet friends from 5-7pm Tuesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, where a rosary and vigil service will be held at 7pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church in loving memory of Philomene.
