Melissa Simpson

Melissa “Missy” Lea Simpson, 56, passed away January 27, 2007 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery at Colfax, IA. Visitation with the family will be held Monday evening from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
Missy was born August 3, 1950 in Sterling, CO to Charles and Philena Cooper. She attended SE Polk graduating in 1968. Missy was united in marriage to the “Love of Her Life”, Charlie Simpson on December 27, 1969. Missy worked for several years for Eye Care of Iowa. Missy gave with all of her heart and soul to the betterment of her family, friends and even strangers. She was very active in “Compassionate Friends”, hand making cards for the enjoyment of others. Missy’s family was a very important, and brought great joy to her life.
Missy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Charlie Simpson; two sons, Kelly and Kenny; daughter, Denise; three grandchildren, Samantha, Skylur and Trevor; brothers, Victor (Libby) Cooper, Vince (Sharon) Cooper; sister, Melanie (Stu) Duncan; mother-in-law, Delores Simpson; sister-in-law, Carol; oodles of nieces nephews and many friends. Missy was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin and Keith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mingo Fire Department or the Colfax Fire and Rescue.
