Lester Briddell

Lester Eli Briddell, 82, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Kavanagh on 56th St. following a lengthy battle with respiratory disease. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines, with burial in Glendale Cemetery.
Lester was born July 3, 1924 to Leona and Harold Briddell. He was a member of the Operative Plasterers and Cement Mason’s I.A. Local 21. He was a very strong union man. He also was an amateur Ornithologist, loved woodworking, and was a skilled craftsman.
Lester is survived by his wife, Doris; his daughter, Vicki Koons; his son Vance Briddell his brother Larry Marsell; five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Briddell, his mother Leona Marsell, his step father Annis Marsell, his sister Daisey, and his brother Harold.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa in loving memory of Mr. Briddell.
