Service Details
Donald Eugene Rowe, 70, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 at Bright Kavanagh House. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Valley Junction Church of God, 317 Elm Street in West Des Moines. A private family inurnment will take place on Tuesday at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery.
Donald was born March 1, 1939 to Joseph and Ruby Rowe. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Donald worked for Bosselman's for 15 years, was a manager for the Union 76 Truckstop in Altoona for 27 years, worked at Prairie Meadows and was most recently employed by WalMart as a greeter. He had coached Little League at Highland Park and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
Donald is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Donald Rowe, George (Dena) Rowe and Joe (Mari Beth) Rowe; daughter, Tina (Mons) Hellyer; step-sons, Larry (Jodi) Baldwin and John (Melinda) Baldwin; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

I worked with Don at Union 76 for several years. My sympathy and prayers go out to Marilyn, Dons sons, daughter & his family at this difficult time. Don took me under his wing at Union, and I will never forget his kindness. He will be dearly missed.
