Harry B. Bundy, Sr., 67, passed away at home on Thursday, June 18, 2009.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Jesse L. and Mamie G. (Black) Bundy; his son, Jesse LeRoy Bundy; brothers, Jesse Bundy, Jr. and William “Billy B.” Bundy; and sisters, Lucille Bundy, Betty Bibbs and Margaret Butler.
He will be missed by his wife, Joan; four children, Harry Jr., of Minneapolis, MN, Leonard (Marla), Lucille and Coy (James) of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Harry is also survived by his sister, Mary McQuerry and brother, Herbert Bundy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Franklin Avenue Christian Church, 1903 53rd St. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. After services, cremation will occur and a private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the Harry Bundy, Sr. memorial fund in loving memory of Harry.

To Bundy family:
We are sorry for your lost please know that God says he will never leave us or forsake us and that all we have to do is have faith in him and actively worship him in truth and faith.

last year I Janice and my children and grandchildren went to the Avant family reunion in St.Louis MO we met dad's only living sister Evelyn Bundy Avant on his fathers sid, George Edward Bundy Sr.
I was happy to meet her and her children and grandchildren.
Aunt Evelyn was alert, up in age and very happy person she was not able to give me much in family history because she said she was raied in Keokuck Ia in town with a relative and that her father never spoke of family much to her.
I would like for Mary McQuerry or Herbet or your older children to please feel free to call me if you could help us with more family history.

My warmest thoughts and wishes are with you all. I pray that you all will be filled with comfort and faith that Harry is at peace and with our Father in heaven. May you all be filled with joy in remeniscing all of the fond memories that were spent with Harry while you all were blessed with his presence here in this life.

My prayers goes out to you all because I know how it feels to lose someone dear to the heart. When your tears are still there think of the most funniest or happiest times and laugh. Then keep that thought with you. And whenever you want to cry think of that time and say dad wouldn't want me to keep crying but to remember him with a smile. That's how I get through the rough times and it will be rough but don't let it keep you from remembering so many good times that you shared in your life with him. Love is a powerful thing and it last forever

My heart goes out to the family I know the lost of a love ones will hurt for a while but try to remember the love you had and the fun times that you enjoyed. So when your tears are gone take a deep breath and smile because I know Uncle Harry is in heavn with all our other love ones and they are all talking about how much they will miss us but know they will see us again. You will all be in my prayers. Love you all
