Tawana Singleton

Tawana Singleton was born April 20, 1963 and went to Heaven on June 13, 2020 at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at age 57.
She had the most loving, kind spirit on this earth. Tawana was known for having loving words and comfort, and being there for people. She has touched many hearts and she embraced life to its fullest.
Tawana went to East High School and worked at Dietary Aide at Riverside Nursing Home. She enjoyed knitting and loved doing creative projects around her house. Tawana had the most caring words. She would lend a helping hand when people were down on their luck.
Tawana is survived by her children, Vaughndre Singleton and Desaree Singleton; grandchildren, Devonna Singleton and Dreiona Singleton; siblings, Vance Singleton, Jarett Singleton, Michael Robert, and Daphne; her cousins who were more like sisters, Johnette Shook, Cama Collier, and Toya J. Whiteside; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gaynelle Whiteside
.
Family will greet friends from 11 am to 1 pm Friday, June 26, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Her funeral service will be at 1pm at the funeral home with interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Tawana.

hey gma I miss you dearly ,, I think about you every day I want you to know that you well always being my heart .,, it's been so crazy without you here I really wish you was here with me oh how I would be telling about my life middle school has been very hard but this 8th grade year has been going good I got a's in about all my class's ,, but I just want to come here and tell you how much I love .

Many prayers for Tawana's family and friends. Me and my husband often ran into her while visiting my mother-in-law at the Southridge apartments. She was one of the nicest ladies, we loved talking with her. She will be dearly missed.
