Orville Bain

Orville Bain, 85, went to heaven to be with his wife Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Orville was born January 1, 1924 in Marland, OK. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and moved to the Des Moines area in 1946. Orville retired from Meredith Corporation after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, loved sports and being a best friend to his three daughters.
Orville is survived by his daughters, Sara Brannen, Annita (Maurice) Tidball and Patricia Shiffer; brother, John Bain; sisters, Nellie Flack and Rosalie Simrell; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genievieve.
