Katherine “Kathy” Elaine Villalobos
Of Des Moines, Iowa
Kathy Villalobos, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born the daughter of John and Minnie (Meyer) Morgan on April 10, 1947 in Lake City, Iowa.
Some of her most favorite things to do were sewing, spending time at Twin Lakes with family, and traveling around following the Oakridge Boys which was roughly 30-40 times. Above everything, Kathy cherished time spent with her family, and most importantly, watching her grandchildrens, nieces and nephews activities. Anyone that knew Kathy will remember her infectious laugh, larger than life smile and her strong faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Leo Villalobos; sons, Terry “T.J.” Villalobos, Jason (Cindy) Villalobos and Leo (Jill) Villalobos; grandchildren, Jay, Tyra, Cayden, Richard “Rich” and Josh; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Daphnie, Karma, Olivia and Felix; siblings, Marsha (Jim) Keul, Sandy Jackson, Debbie (Denny) Snyder, Carla (Tim) Summy, Linda Morgan and Rita (Joe) Kapsch; and many beloved nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie (Meyer) Morgan; and brother, Terry Morgan.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m., day, March 7, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Kathy.

The vibrant smile Kathy had will always warm my heart. I'm saddened by the news but comforted to know she is in no more pain. She will be missed greatly on this earth but there will be a time when our paths will cross again. Until we meet again Kathy - I love you dearly.
