Kenneth Hegland

Kenneth Hegland, 57, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at the V.A. Hospital in Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery where military rites will be performed.
Kenny was born February 27, 1952 in Des Moines to Ben and Helen (Wimer) Hegland. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam as an MP. Kenny was an excellent artist and loved to draw. He was a loving father and a loyal friend.
Kenny is survived by his daughter, Leticia (fiancé, Matthew Hunter) Hegland; step-son, Chris Watrous; sisters, Susan Wilkison and Sandee Knox; brother, Bill Hegland; grandchildren, Alexis Ruble and Makenna Hunter; his companion of 20 years, Debbie McCauley; three nieces; a nephew; and a host of other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
