Nadine Kay Goodman

Nadine Kay Goodman, 69, of Bondurant, IA, passed away from cancer on October 21, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2600 E. Euclid Ave., Des Moines, IA on Wednesday, October 30 at 11AM. The family will be present one hour prior to the service for visitation. Burial will be at Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Nadine was born on March 1, 1950, to Lowell and Marjorie (George) Simonson. She received most of her education at Southeast Polk School, Runnells, IA, but graduated from Ames High School, Ames, IA. After graduation, she joined the United States Navy where she proudly served for twenty-three years. In 1979 she married Jeffrey Goodman in San Diego, CA.

Nadine retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief in 1992. She then began a new career as a legal assistant, retiring from the Bradshaw Law Firm in Des Moines, IA in 2010.

Nadine is survived by her sister, Virginia (Glen) Keeling; brothers, Ken (Ginger) Simonson and Darrel (Barbara) Simonson; step-children, Leanna (August) Trottman, Eric Goodman, and Lisa Goodman; step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Goodman; parents, Lowell and Marjorie Simonson; brother, Elmer Simonson; and her niece, Angela Simonson-Rhoads.

Nadine had a kind heart and cared deeply for her family and friends. She made friends easily and was loved by many.

The family requests no flowers please. Memorials may be directed to the family and will be given to Veterans Service Organizations.
