Prov 22:6 says raise up a child in the ways he should go and he will not depart from it. Dominic didnt have a chance he was going to be raised the way his family wanted. He wanted to do it his way! Not in the beginning though, He didnt want to go to church but his family wanted him too. He didnt want to go to school but his family wanted him too.He didnt wanted to do as he was told but his family told him anyway. He was a competitor early on. It was always a competition with Braydon, his tormentor and one of his mentors. With Richie his rival in everything. With Kyla, his favorite pest and with Jo his best buddy. When it came to sports he had to be the best or at least try. Not the fastest kid on the block but definitely one of the quickest. At some point there became a calming from rebellion, if you will, to doing what his family wanted not because they wanted him to but because he wanted too. He wanted to go to church, he wanted to go to school. He had to be early not late or absent and he had to get good grades.. He had to go to youth group at church but not because the family wanted him to, they did but because he wanted to. He worked harder than others at getting better than most. He set goals not just for the now but for his future. His mama pushed him, Nanas favorite, arent they all, and papa was his teacher, preacher and pal! He showed him how to work. He loved to help mow the grass especially when he got old enough to drive the riding mower at church and his papa showed when it was time for play like the races at Knoxville or the Racing Nationals on TV. Dominic wasnt much on conversation until he wanted to say something unless you were in the posse. Now hes in Heaven where both he and his family wanted, just not this soon. Remember the past and cherish your the memories of Dominic. We Love you all.

My heart is broken for you and your family! I am soooo sorry for the earthly loss of your young man! He will always live on in your hearts! According to everything I have seen and read about him, Dominic looks like an amazing young man who's been taken way too soon! Guess God needed another ANGEL but left a huge hole in the hearts of those he left behind! I didn't know him but knew his Grandma, Marsha, at that age! Rest in Paradise young man and for his family I will be thinking about you and praying for healing! Much love!

To all Parents
Edgar Guest
"I'll lend you for a while a child of mine," He said.
"For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief."
"I cannot promise he will stay; since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in My search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love, not think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to take him back again?"
"I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done!
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay;
But should the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand!"

While the loss of a loved one is never easy, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon. May your memories of Dominic and the love from your family and friends surround you and give you strength and peace in the days ahead.

My thoughts are with the family at this time. I had a conversation with Dominic when he was 10-11 on how he wanted to be great and take his team to Williamsport for the LLWS. I will never forget that conversation. His team was very close and no doubt he still wanted to be great as a young man as well. You will be missed!!
