Wayne L. Ludwig

Wayne Ludwig, 67, died at Mercy Medical Center, February 26, 2009. He was born January 11, 1942 in Casey, IA to Mary and Elmore Ludwig. He graduated from Adair-Casey High School in 1960 and began his career at Look Magazine where he worked until 1972. The balance of his career was spent as Electrician/Maintenance with the Air National Guard base. He has been retired for the past five years.
In 1967 Wayne married Karol Inman and they had forty-one wonderful years together. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, fishing, traveling, time at the cabin and hunting. He will forever be known as the neighborhood and family “Mr. Fix It”. One of his moments of “fame” came with his appearance on the Powerball Show broadcast from Hollywood, CA.
Wayne is survived by, his wife, Karol Ludwig; his mother, Mary Dora of Casey, IA; his sisters, Martha (Jerry) Olsen of Des Moines, IA, Opal Ludwig of Ankeny, IA and Carol Woolheater of Des Moines, IA; his brothers, Carl (Carol) of Severna Park, MD, Rex (Florence) of Minden, NV and George (Carmen) Ludwig of Spain; several nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, John Woolheater.
A memorial service will be held, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in honor of Wayne.

I am very sorry to here about Wayne. I worked around him until I retired in 1996. Wayne bought a car from me as I used to sell a few to guard members while I worked out there. I also bought Waynes 1969 chevy pickup several years back and it is still here in Panora.Any thing my family can do for yourfamily, just call. Again, so sorry to here about Wayne.
