Sonia Josefina Reverol-Andrade

Sonia Josefina Reverol-Andrade, 71, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Masonic Cemetery, 1550 48th Street in Des Moines, IA.

Sonia was born September 10, 1947 in Maracaibo, Venezuela. She came to the United States in August of 1995 for the American dream. It was always her dream to have her entire family together in one location. Sonia was a hardworking entrepreneur with her own housekeeping service. She was a devoted and close mother to all of her six children and though they lived in various locations, Sonia was in constant contact with them. She carried this same love for her mother and her siblings

Sonia loved singing and shopping. She was a wonderful cook and it was a joy for her to cook for her family and friends. Her heart with full and she was always willing to help anyone in need. Language was never a barrier to friendship for Sonia. She had dear friends who spoke Bosnian while she spoke Spanish, friendship to Sonia was a universal language. Her love was boundless.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Dario Zambrano, Carolina (Henry) Zambrano, Jose Zambrano, Patricia (Luis M.) Reverol, Luis Reverol, and Paola (Martin) Reverol; 17 grandchildren; her aunt, Josefina Andrade; her sister, Faima Andrade; and the father of her youngest children, Luis Reverol, Sr. Sonia was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Andrade; her brother, Juan Andrade; her aunt, Lucila Andrade; and her cousins, Jose, Catillo and Luis Angel.
