Grace Marie (Turner) Weddell, 88, died at her home Monday, February 9, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Grace was born December 23, 1920 to Jay and Gertrude (Johnson) Turner. She married Francis Mike Weddell in 1939. Grace retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was a member of Clifton Heights Presbyterian Church.
Grace is survived by her sons, Michael (Patsy) Weddell of Prairie City, James (Ruby) Weddell of Des Moines, Ronald Weddell of Des Moines, Mark (Dena) Weddell of Dallas Center, Robert (Rhonda) Weddell of Des Moines and Raymond (Michele) Weddell of Urbandale; seven granddaughters, six grandsons, 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Gerald Turner; and sisters, Alberta Barnett, Elsie Murphy and Ruth Adamson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clifton Heights Presbyterian Church.

Robert, It was thoughtful and unexpected to see you at Dad's visitation, since your mother had also passed away. Your mother was a sweet lady. I remember waking up some mornings to find your Dad drinking coffee at our kitchen table. He would always stop in if he had a service call in the area. Blessings to you and your entire family.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Grace, she was a sweet lady and had a strong will in raising all her boys. Now she is rekindling her everlasting life with the love of her life, Mike.
