Gordon Damon Shults, 65, died Sunday, May 12, at his home in Des Moines, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 23rd 2019. Please contact Bambi Brokaw for more information.
Gordon was born November 27, 1963 to Virgil and Betty Shults in Urbandale, Iowa. Gordon served as a chapels assistant and loved God. He enjoyed spending time with his family, teaching his grandson how to shoot, and truly enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up. Gordon was his grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader at their sporting events. Gordon loved AC/DC and various other rock bands. Gordon was passionate about gardening and caring for his house and yard, you could always find him working in his yard and doing some sort of home improvement. He worked for years at 3E here in Des Moines, he was an electrical painter and loved his job. He also devoted his time to volunteer services in his community.
Gordon is survived by: his daughter Bambi (Kevin) Brokaw; his mother, Betty Shults; his brother Gary Shults; his grandchildren Maddison, Farrah, Felicity, and Samuel, and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil.

Gary & Betty, I don't know if you remember me but I was Gordon's friend from Ankeny. He was always very special to me and I am sad to learn of his passing. He will always have a special place in my heart. Love you all, "George"

I knew Gordon over the past five years and will remember his sense of "dry" humor and "crusty wit." My condolences for the family of Gordon and may Gods blessings bring peace. Rest easy Gordon.
