Shirley Robinette

Shirley Robinette, 70, passed away at her home Friday, January 23, 2009. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family has requested casual dress as Shirley would want everyone to be comfortable.
Shirley was born April 30, 1938 in Des Moines to Harry and Berenice Grant. She graduated from East High School. Shirley retired from Roosevelt High School as a bookkeeper after 44 years of service. She was a member of the Doe’s Lodge #25 and the Order of Eastern Star. Shirley enjoyed camping and vacationing.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Ray; daughter Cindie (Mark) Robinette-Anderson; numerous cousins; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Denny.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation or Taylor House Hospice.
