Ronald Crossland

Ronald E. Crossland, 78, of Des Moines, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 600 6th Ave. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street
Ronald was born June 9, 1928 to Lawrence and Bessie M. Dougherty Crossland. He was a 1947 graduate of North High School and attended Drake University. Ronald worked for Mid American Dairy for 35 years. He was an officer of the dairy credit union and a church elder. Ronald loved coaching little league and senior league baseball. He was in the Navy Reserves. Ronald loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and tennis.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Carol Rae Crossland; one son, Keith Crossland; one daughter, Jane Strong; two grandchildren, Jennifer Wisner and Brian Strong; and one great grandson, James Wisner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church or American Diabetes Association.
