Alexis Cano, de 18 años, murió por graves heridas en su cabeza en un accidente automovilístico el jueves 14 de marzo de 2019 en el Hospital Metodista de Iowa.

Alexis nació el 28 de Mayo de 2000 en Durango, México, de José Manuel Cano y Maribel Reyes. Se graduó de Lincoln High School en 2018. Alexis comenzó su propia empresa de construcción llamado Diamond Framing. Alexis no solo disfrutaba escuchando música rap, sino que amaba absolutamente todo lo que tuviera que ver con autos como correr y trabajar en ellos. Alexis también le gustaba pasar mucho tiempo con su familia, lo cual era muy cercano, y era conocido como un gran bromista, que siempre hacía reír a todos. Siempre fue una persona muy positiva y feliz y siempre será recordado por constantemente teniendo una sonrisa.

Alexis fue criado de sus padres, José Manuel y Maribel; Dos hermanos, Huber y Jonathan Cano.

Le precedieron en la muerte su abuelo, Santiago Cano y su tío, Luis Alberto Reyes.

La familia saludará a los amigos de 10 a.m. a 8 p.m. Jueves, 21 de marzo de 2019 en la Casa Funeraria Southtown de Hamilton, 5400 SW 9th Street. Una segunda visita tendrá lugar a las 2:00 p.m. a las 4:00 p.m. Viernes 22 de marzo de 2019 de marzo en la iglesia católica Christ the King. La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 4:00 p.m., viernes 22 de marzo en la iglesia católica Christ the King.

Alexis Cano, 18, died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

Alexis was born May 28, 2000 in Durango, Mexico to Jose Manuel Cano and Maribel Reyes. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 2018. Alexis started his own construction company, Diamond Framing. Alexis not only enjoyed listening to rap music, but he absolutely loved anything that had to do with cars such as racing and working on them. Alexis also enjoyed spending lots of time with his family which he was very close to, and was known as a big jokester, always making everyone laugh. He was always a very positive and happy person and will always be remembered for his constant smile.

Alexis is survived by his parents, Jose Manuel and Maribel; two brothers, Huber and Jonathan Cano.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Santiago Cano and his uncle, Luis Alberto Reyes.

The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. A second visitation will take place 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Funeral Mass will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cano family in loving memory of Alexis.
