Erma M. Compton, 79, passed away at home on March 2, 2019. She was born July 21, 1939 to Vincent and Agnes (Frueh) Ripperger.
Erma enjoyed bowling and attending BBQ competitions with her husband. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; children, John (Chris), Dianna (Brad), Steve, Kevin (Crystal), Kyle (Melissa) and Tawny; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Lyle, Mary Ann, Janet, Dwight (Carmeline), Darlene (Ron) and Darrell (Jolene): and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lola.
A celebration of life will start at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Croatian Slavic Center, 6575 Indianola Ave, Des Moines.
Memorials may be directed to the family.

I was very sad to read of Erma's passing. She was a really great lady. I always enjoyed talking to her when she could attend our retiree luncheons with Dave. May you rest in peace. Prayers for Dave and the family.
