Service Details
Carl Leon Glick, 86 died December 1, 2008 at Genesis Care Facility in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Wednesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with visitation starting at 1 pm. His body will be cremated after the service, and burial of the cremated remains will occur at a later date in Moravia.
Carl owned and operated his own trucks and drove over the road for himself and others for his adult life.
He is survived by his children, Dixie (Dale) Burgoyn of Seattle, WA, Donna Rector of Des Moines, IA, Diane (Bob) Filing, Riverside, CA, Forest (Shelby) Glick of Des Moines, IA, Debra Downs of Ames, IA, Joyce Kimzey of Des Moines, IA , Jean (Clyde) Deever of Afton, IA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

We will miss Uncle Cockey so very much. We really enjoyed our time with him this past summer when we visited him at the nursing home. Our thoughts and prayers are with you even though we will not be able to attend since we are living in Maryland, we will be with you in spirit.

I am truely sorry for your lost and I remember Carl as such a wonderful gentle man. He was a big part of my three sons Ken Killen, Brent Killen and John Killen, lives and they have many happy memories of Carl and of drinking coffee at the truck stop with him on early mornings. He is going to be missed by so many.
