Esther Hankins

Esther Caldwell Hankins, died January 2, 2007 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born July 27, 1914 to Edward and Carrie Caldwell in Booneville, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
She worked for American optical for 38 years and retired in 1979.
Esther was a member of the Highland Park Garden Club and a long time member of the Women of the Moose.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara and her husband, Mac Morrow, her grandchildren: Mike Morrow, Mark Morrow, Judy Kauffman, Helen Johnson, Margee Adkins, Lolly Dansie, Jim Johnson, Joyce Williams, Ruth Roberts, Jim Sparks, Donna Handshy, Phyllis Maxwell, Lynn Hankins, Mark Hankins and Jane Casey. Numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren. Her siblings, Lela Gilbert, Josephine Lancaster, Willis Caldwell, Frances Simpson, Virginia Gomez and Ben Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harry Hankins.
Memorial may be made to Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in loving memory of Esther.
