Robert "Bob" Hyland

Robert “Bob” Hyland, Jr., 94, passed away December 24, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Indianola.
Bob was born February 15, 1924 to Robert Hyland, Sr. and Hazel DeMoss in Des Moines, IA.
He proudly served in the Army during WW II.
He manufactured the first 5th wheel camper called the Hylander. He also owned one of the 1st antique malls in the area. One of his greatest pleasures was having a booth at the Iowa State Fair in Pioneer Hall. Bob enjoyed wii bowling, visiting Prairie Meadows and fishing.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marlys; children, Regina Pirtle and Jeanine (John) Crise; step-children, Douglas Blumer, Sheila (Kevin) Kelly and Thomas Blumer; grandchildren, Will (Molly) Pirtle, Jason (Marra) Pirtle, Nicole (Ben) Bagley and Michelle (Nicole) Crise; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Reese, Gianna, Lucca, Nora, Justin and Alissa; special sister-in-law, Dixie Hayward and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Bill Pirtle; step-daughter, Cindy Francis and grandparents, Harry & Mae Hyland who raised him.
The family will greet friends Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00am – 12:00pm with the funeral service to follow at 12:00pm at Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church, 13015 Scotch Ridge Rd., Carlisle, IA. Bob will be laid to rest at Scotchridge Cemetery.
