Bette Mark

wBette Mark, 86, of Des Moines, passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 at home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street; visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Bette was born June 28, 1922 in Des Moines. She retired from Employers Mutual Insurance in 1986 and was a member of the O.E.S. Eastgate Lodge. Bette enjoyed shopping, gambling, watching the Chicago Cubs, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bette is survived by her grandson, Jeff (Michelle) Ogden; her four great-grandchildren Brittney, Brandon, Logan, and Cade; her brothers, Richard (Fran) Baltzley and Frank (Nancy) Baltzley; her sisters, Edith Reynolds, Clara (George) Mincks, Sharon Foote, and Barbara Mills; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville “Deacon” Mark, her daughter, Carol, her parents, William and Martha Baltzley and her brothers, William, David, Larry and Daniel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation in loving memory of Bette.
