Jean Hick

Jean Hick, 88, of Altoona passed away at her home Monday, October 6, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with Pastor Alice Bolen officiating. Burial will follow at Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jean was born in Adelphi, Iowa to Grover and Hazel Warren on March 29, 1920. She was a graduate of East High School and spent her entire life in the Des Moines/Altoona area. Jean worked for the Polk County Recorder’s office for several years. She married Allen Hick and they spent many happy years together before his passing as a result of cancer.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Cherrie Porter; granddaughter, Chantal (Aaron Furcci) Porter; great-grandson, Vincent Furcci; and her sister, Shirley (Bill) O’Brien. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Lorraine Hurd; brother, Robert “Bud” Warren; and her parents.
