Anna McCaughey

Anna McCaughey, 96, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at Union Park Care Center in Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Our Lady of the America’s Catholic Church, Visitation Worship Center with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines, with a Vigil Service at 6 p.m.
Anna was born July 8, 1912 to Mary and John Torsky in Des Moines. She lived in Chicago, Illinois for over 38 years before moving back to Des Moines. She worked many factory jobs throughout her career.
Anna is survived by her sister, Helen Flanders; grandchildren, Diana Holper, Peg Klingel, Pat Kramer and Robert Prine; son-in-love, Don Hiatt; three step children, four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and great friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Prine; and her daughters, Dolores Prine and Patricia Rundle.
