Faro Salvatore Ruffino III, 68, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born to Faro S. Ruffino II and Virginia M. Ruffino on September 26, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, the oldest of five children.

Faro found joy in everything he did. He loved to laugh with family and friends. He made a living as a mechanic and welder, was always learning and inventing, and held several patents. Faro served in the United States Marine Corps, worked in the auto industry welding and building cars, owned a chimney sweep business, was an avid entrepreneur, and loved to tinker. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together, from grandfather clocks to computers. Other interests and hobbies included gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping. Later in life, he went back to school and earned a degree in accounting from Grandview University, Des Moines.

He is survived by his children Faro Ruffino IV, Tara Radtke (Jason), Kelly Templeton (Jason), Kimberly Jacobson (Christopher), and Kristen Ruffino, 19 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by parents Faro S. Ruffino II and Virginia M. Ruffino, and wife Nina Ruffino.

Graveside service will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 30, 2018, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, Iowa with the United States Marine Corps Military Funeral Honors and the American Legion Post 403 Rifle Volley Salute.
