Velma Oliver

Velma Oliver, 85, of Indianola died Saturday at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue; visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Velma was born July 6, 1923 in Newton. She married Richard Oliver on July 8, 1943. Velma worked for American Republic Insurance Company for 30 years as a supervisor, retiring in 1985. Velma enjoyed camping, fishing, and cooking, but above all she loved being with her family.
Velma is survived by her son, James (Nanci) Oliver, her son, Stephen (Kay) Oliver, her daughter, Donna Musso; her sister, Gladys Jackson; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dale Oliver, her son, Gale, her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in loving memory of Velma.
