Carlotta Parkey

Carlotta Clay Parkey, 66, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at St. Paul AME Church, 1201 Day Street, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Ms. Parkey was born March 2, 1942 to Alfred and Thurstine Bruce in Des Moines. She was a child care provided for most of her life and loved to go to Prairie Meadows to play the slots.
Ms. Parkey is survived by her children, Tamar Woods and Roger (Rhonda) Parkey; grandchildren, Nicole (Jacob) VanGinkle, Carlotta Woods, Joshua Saga, Jordyn Parkey, Roger Parkey III, and Bert Garner; brothers, Lonnie (Polly), George, Richard (Joyce), and Charles Bruce; friend, Charles Thomas; many nieces; nephews; and beloved friends.
