Carolyn K. Lampman

Carolyn K. Lampman, 75, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018, from complications of COPD surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was born February 4, 1943 to Leo and Darlene Wolfe. She was born and raised on the Eastside of Des Moines. Carolyn was a very hardworking woman who most recently worked as the manager for Amvets Post 2. She always worked in the service industry and knew everyone. Her hobbies included gardening. She loved being outside and especially enjoyed watching the butterflies.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kelli Lampman; son, Paul Lampman, Jr.; four grandchildren, Karla, Kyle, Kristina and Kaylie; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Wolfe and Randy Wolfe; and many other loving extended family and countless friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Darlene Wolfe, brother Gary and son Doug.
Burial will be held at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Amvets Post 2, 2815 5th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family at 2521 East 41st Street, Des Moines, IA 50317.

Katie was one of the most real people I ever knew. I learned a lot from her...I always knew when I had messed up... She'd chuckle and say and what did that get ya? Fly high my friend. See ya on the other side.

Katie wow im lost for words, Im so sad to think your gone I told you'd id would come see you & never did, Im mad myself. I learned alot from you lady thru my journey in life... bartending at the jim-n-i for my parents for yrs the place was always packed sometimes standing room only, your awesome and I love you Katie... my parents will be estatic now tht your with them they loved you too pieces... I'm sorry Kelli, Poe, Ronnie, Randy along with Katie' s grandkids... I remember shopping for hrs just to pick out an Easter dress for Karla Kay... Katie youll forever be missed and never forgotten.... fly high with the rest of the angels, lady!!!! Till we meet again

My friend Kay, this is a very sad day for many, many people whos lives you touched in so many different and special ways. You were a true and great friend and co worker as well as a woman of great strength and wisdom and you will always be missed everyday by the ones who love you and whom you loved as well.
