Russell "Russ" Townsley

Russell “Russ” Townsley, 62, lost his battle with cancer on September 17, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born April 8, 1956, in Des Moines to Russell and Ruth Townsley.

Russ is survived by his sister, Bridget Townsley; niece, Angela Carlson (Tim); and great niece, Gabby Carlson. Also left to cherish his memory are Cheryl Dady, Amanda Shipman; grandchildren, Brandi, Ivan, Britney, and Haley; and several aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Denny Bradshaw.

The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and caregivers for all their help and compassion during Russ’s illness.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
