Sharon "Shari" Marckmann

Shari (Anderson) Marckmann of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. A celebration of life service is scheduled for Friday, September 21, 1:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa. Inurnment at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa will take place at a later date.
Sharon Faye (Anderson) Marckmann was born on September 29, 1940 to Arnold and Phyllis (Dunn) Anderson in Luverne, Minnesota. In 1971 Shari married Marlin Marckmann and moved to his family farm near Greenfield. They were the parents of three children: Todd, Brandee and Chris. She took great pride in her family and was an enthusiastic follower of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include: husband Marlin of Greenfield and Des Moines; son Todd Marckmann (Sarah) of Des Moines and their three children, Katie Schlawin (Blake), Ellie Marckmann, and Josh Marckmann; daughter Brandee Marckmann (Bill Mooney) of San Francisco and their son Henry. Other survivors include sisters Arla Carmean (Charlie, deceased) and LeAnn Siegle (Bob), as well as nieces and nephews, in-laws, and other relatives and friends. Shari was preceded in death by her son Chris, and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Autism Society of Iowa.
