Joshua James Wheeler

Joshua James Wheeler, 32, passed away August 12, 2018 at Unity Point Health Des Moines Methodist.

Joshua was born August 30, 1985 in Des Moines to Dennis and Linda Wheeler. He graduated in 2003 from Lincoln High School. Joshua was currently working for Bridgestone/Firestone, prior to that, he worked for Techniplas for six years. He was a member of Local #310. Joshua enjoyed fishing, baseball and “golf ball hunting”. He never met a stranger. Family was everything to Joshua and he loved being a daddy to his daughter, Avri.

Joshua is survived by his daughter, Avri; mother, Linda Wheeler; sister, Andrea Goode; grandmother, Mary Wheeler; niece, Matilynn; nephew, Carson; the mother of his child, Calla Bondhus; many close aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as a host of extended family and great friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Wheeler; grandfather, Eugene Wheeler; grandparents, George and Betty McBride; and his uncle, Eugene Wheeler.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for his daughter’s education in loving memory of Joshua.
