James (Jim) Clair Garwood
Of Ankeny, IA
James (Jim) Clair Garwood, age 68, passed away suddenly on July 16, 2018, at his home in Ankeny, IA. He was born on October 20, 1949 to Floyd (Buzz) and Gertrude (Trudy) Garwood in Ankeny.
Jim is survived by his son, Jeffery (Jeff) Garwood; daughter-in-law, Christina Drown-Garwood; sister, Susan Ballard; grandsons, Justin and Ryan Garwood; and his nephew, Chad Ballard.
Jim attended Ankeny High School where he won several medals while on the swim team. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Patricia (Pattie) Niffenegger. They shared many wonderful adventures together up until her passing in 2013.
Jim loved to do many things, fishing with his buddies, travelling and hiking. Above all, he treasured time spent with his grandsons whom he adored.

Jimmy was one person we have known since we were children. We had birthday parties, played in our yards, and just messed around in our neighborhood. We graduated HS together and later my mother worked with Jim during a time after he was married. Blessed were his days and those of his family. He may be gone but he will never forgotten.
